2019 Australia Open and Age Group Championships

17 Apr 2019 by Yulia Vakar

On Friday 12th April our swimmers made the journey to Sydney on a Friday night after school to represent the club at the 2019 Australia Open and Age Group Championships. The competition saw 226 athletes from 19 clubs across 5 countries.

After months of practice and training the girls got to show off their skills on Sunday 14th April. The swimmers were divided into 2 age categories (under 12 years, 13-15 years). They were required to perform 4 figures in front of 4 panels of 5 judges. Well done to all the swimmers who competed, especially as for some it was their first experience of a synchro figure competition.

Sofiya, Cassidy, Lilla, Ruby, Lillian, Ekaterina trained exceptionally hard in the lead up to the competition. The swimmers presented 2 routines exceptionally well and made their coaches, Bobbie and Eloise very proud.

The results for 13-15 Team 8 th place;
Open free age team 8th place.

Thank you to all the club’s committee members and parents who helped out on the day by scoring, marshalling, time keeping and judging. You did more than your very best to insure a wonderful competition.

“Artistic swimming is run by an army of volunteers who passionately give back to our sport to support its growth. So thank you to our judges and every volunteer behind the scenes who make it possible for this sport to thrive ❤️” – Synchro Australia.

Well done everyone! Girls enjoy your well deserved break! Happy Easter everyone!!!

Next year National Championship will be held in Perth.
